Synopsis:
The topic of doping in sports is never far from the headlines but it began way back in the late 1880’s; our tale takes us from the illegal fighting dens of Blackburn to the Bordeaux to Paris cycling marathon as the original backstreet chemist Choppy Walburton experiments on his young athletes with sometimes lethal cocktails of drugs. As one of his riders becomes world Champion suspicion is raised by Frenchman Rudiger Rabenstein and Choppy’s illegal narcotic and betting rings are threatened to be exposed....
